Description:
Our vet believes Nala is approximately 8 years old. We were told that she would make the perfect beginners horse for my husband when we bought her (knowing absolutely nothing about horses). She can be ridden, but it is clear that she was never trained with natural methods. She exhibits mostly right-brain introvert behavior, but is an EXTREMELY fast learner. Before we knew better my husband (a TRUE beginner) rode her around the neighborhood without any problems, but she has little ground skills. I have too many to work with all of them, but feel she would excel in a home with training experience and more time to work with her. She hasn't been ridden since Oct. 2007. She loads in a trailer, leads, stands tied, bathes, does well for the vet, & has been doing well with our current farrier. She does well for calm and assertive handlers, but is fearful of people who are more aggressive and reactive. She has not shown need for shoes and will move nicely even on rock or gravel, never missed a step. She is up to date on vaccines, coggins, deworming, & trimming. She is VERY friendly and will come running to you when you enter the pasture. She is friendly with any other horses we have put her with, middle of the herd, but slightly food aggressive with other horses. She is not registered, but looks most like a quarter horse. She had a foal by her side when we bought her. The foal looks and acts exactly like her. My husband and I are new to horses, but will do our best to answer any questions. I feel she would make an excellent trail horse if someone had time to work with her. We have had a hard time deciding to list her for sale, but feel it is best for her and us since we have so many right now. Please email instead of calling.
